Top Ten Tuesday (1)

I've never participated in a Top Ten Tuesday before, so I figured I finally should! I love reading all the posts, so I'm pretty excited to be taking part this week.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
"Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!"

This week's topic is "Top Ten Bookish People That You Want to Meet." It can be bloggers, authors, anything. I think I'm going to limit myself to just authors.

1. I feel like this is probably going be on quite a few people's lists, but J.K. Rowling. I would love to meet her and just chat with her for a bit.

2. Brigid Kemmerer, the author of the Elemental series. I've talked with her a bit on Twitter here and there, and she just seems like such a fun person.

3. Lauren DeStefano, author of the Chemical Garden series. Same as above, Brigid Kemmerer. That and because we're both cat ladies, so we have that in common.

4. Tahereh Mafi, author of Shatter Me. I <s>stalk</s> follow her on Twitter, and she's hilarious.

5. Sherrilyn Kenyon! I've met her before at a signing, so maybe this is cheating a bit, but she's so funny.

6. Michael Grant, because I need to see if he really is as sick and twisted as I imagine after reading the Gone series.

7. Chelsea Cain, for the same reason as Michael Grant. She needs to be sick and twisted to come up with Gretchen Lowell.

8. Chris Colfer. I know he's a celebrity, but hey, he wrote a book too!!! My husband and I were actually talking about this tonight, in a "what celebrity would you like to hang out with" conversation. Mine was Chris Colfer. He just seems to down-to-earth and funny.

9. Lauren Oliver because she wrote some awesome books.

10. Can characters be considered a 'bookish person'? If so, I'll say Katniss from The Hunger Games.

  1. I think JK Rowling will be on almost everyone's list. She certainly was on mine! I would freak out just to be in the same room as her.

I just read Storm by Brigid Kemmerer and I liked it. I can't wait to read Spark!

Awesome list. Glad you participated in TTT this week. :)

  2. JK Rowling was on my list too. I have so many questions that I just need her to answer! I included Lauren DeStefano too, I love her books!

  3. I have had the pleasure of meeting Michael Grant in person and he is one cool dude. In the past I have said that he is funny and nice, but he took issue with that, so from now on I say he is a total badass. I hope you get to meet him sometime!
