The Sunday Post (2)
The Sunday Post is a new weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news, recap your week, showcase books and things we have received and talk about what is upcoming on our blog.
Personal :
This week was pretty boring for me, which was a much welcomed change from the normal. Work is still crazy. Little Man is two and having tantrums ALL. THE. TIME. Which, of course, makes for some pretty stressful days. But then he does stuff that is so funny that I can't help but laugh. The other day, I was changing his diaper and he started giggling, so I asked him what he was laughing at and he informed me he was going to "tinkle on me." He's also been walking around after his bath, before he gets dressed, and pointing to his chest and saying "i have no boobies." I'm not sure where that came from. But probably my favorite thing he's done lately is yesterday, he piled up all his "vroom-vrooms" (cars, motorcycles, dirtbikes, basically anything that goes vroom), squatted down next to them, started tapping his chin, and saying "hmmm" until he found one that he wanted to use. I was cracking up.
Today is also mother's day, so I want to give a huge shoutout to my Mom (if she's being a creeper today. She does that every so often) and tell her thank you for being the best Mom I could have. Sure, there are times we fight, there are times you embarrass me when you're singing and dancing around the kitchen, and there are times when I'm grateful that we live 11 hours away from each other so we can't strangle one another. But there are even more times that you make me laugh, that you listen to me when I'm upset, and that you help me figure my life out when I think everything is falling apart. I don't know what I would do without you Mom, and I'm sorry if I don't say it enough. I love you Mamadukes<3.
On the blog :
This week I had a busy week! On Monday, I had a guest post by Toni Aleo. Tuesday I had a review for The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. Wednesday, of course, was my Waiting on Wednesday, which was Undeadly by Michele Vail. Bout of Books starts tomorrow, so I did my goal post on Thursday. Friday I took the day off, but on Saturday I posted a review of The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa.
Like I mentioned, Bout of Books starts tomorrow and goes throughout the week, so you can expect to see lots of posts relating to that in the coming week!
Books received :
None! Yay! I finally went a week without getting ANY books at all, not even from the library. Success! I think I'm going to instate a new policy for myself though. Read three books, buy one. I think that seems fair, and will hopefully help me to start reading some of the books I already own instead of buying more.
Well, I think that's it for this edition of The Sunday Post! Hope you all had a great week.

Aw, thank you! She thought so too, lol. I called to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and she said she already saw my post. She's such a creep, haha.
DeleteI definitely need all the time to catch up that I can get!
It may have been a boring week for you, but it certainly wasn't a boring blogging week - you really have been busy! Love your new book buying policy too... I should really give myself some book buying rules but I know I'd just break them! :P
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog!

It's going to be super hard for me to stick to but I told my husband he's not allowed to let me buy any until I read 3 books. And since we currently have 4 bookshelves filled and need a 5th, he was pretty happy with that.

'Read three books, buy one' is a very good way to stop buying too much books. I did that one too but than came the bookdepository with their 10% off and I couldn't stop myself :D
ReplyDeleteI think I'll have a cheat week once a month where I can get a couple more, maybe like an extra one or two, for things exactly like that, lol.

DeleteHeaded over there now, thanks for stopping by!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely round up! I think I need to give myself a rule as to how many books I can buy in ratio to the ones that I have read . . .But there are so many books that I want to read! In the end I think it is the silly height that by TBR pile gets to that makes me stop buying books :-)
Thank you for stopping by my IMM.
Happy reading,
Charlotte
I know, that's my problem. I think my TBR is at like 450+ books. Maybe I'll up it a bit? For every two books I read, I can buy one? I don't know. The silly height of my TBR doesn't matter, I just keep buying them, lol.

Happy Mother's day!
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'll say this to a fellow blogger but YAY for having a free week, you can catch up on your back logs! I wish I could say the same thing, I'm a hoarder! LOL

Thanks!
DeleteAnd I know, I was so happy when I was writing up this post and realized I didn't have any books. For the past couple weeks I've had about 15-20 books a week, so this was a nice change.
Happy Mother's Day to you! It's always kind of a relief to not receive books... it gives us a chance to make a dent in our TBR piles. I'm considering joining the read-a-thon, I really need to catch up on some review titles!

Happy mothers day! Toddlers don't you love them :) My 16 month old hasn't really got into the tantrums yet though she does her best to get me to do whatever it is she wants like taking her shoes to the back door if she want to use her trike and outdoor toys, or getting my keys or handbag when she wants to go outside to play lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier and commenting, much appreciated!
